If you are visiting San Jose with a spending limit , but still want to see what this great city has to offer, there are some things to do and see that will make it a great trip. Most San Jose visitors leave the city faster then they get there to visit rainforet and exotic black sand beaches. But there interesting things in within and near the city to fill your budget needs.San Jose host some of the best museums in Central America.Pre-Columbian artifacts at the Museo de Jade Marco Fidel Tristán and Centro Nacional de Arte y Cultura are some of the finest to be looked upon.Museums is far from being the only thing this quent city has to offer.
Even though it sets on the outskirt of San Jose the town is considered a part of the official San Jose region.San Antonio de Escazu is the center for agriculture, and dairy farming . The unique little town host amazing mountain scenic views and and valleys. There is a very interesting church and a few homes around its main center that gives it the appearance of a colony or settlement. The church is the perfect setting in a town and guards San Jose valley and the perfect Green Mountains. The oddly painted Church stands out like a soldier guarding the mountain gates..
Day Of The Oxcart Driver is a festival held in march.Oxcarts fill the streets alligned with food vendors,Dancing and Live Music.People come from all over the country for this large event, bringing San Antonio de Escazu alive with color and great fun.A bus will take you there from in front of the Health ministry in San Jose to San Antonio de Escazu for under a dollar.
If some nice art and crafts are your thing, then you should visit the market near the San Jose National Museum, Where you will find an enormous amounts of art and crafts made by local artists.I purchased some amazing feather art pieces that are great conversation pieces in my home for two or three dollars each. Not your thing? Galeria Namu, located near the Holiday Inn is where you'll find more unique, high end crafts. On the way, you can visit the book store on Seventh Street, listen to local musicians jam and thumb through some cool books.San Josés National Theatre is a product of a Coffee tax established for culture. On tuesdays its open for lunch. There are weekly shows hosted my national artist, and tickets run about two dollars. This a perfect place to enjoy a good cup of coffee.
